Since our inception in 1984, the mission of Victims of Violence has been: 
-To provide long term support and guidance to victims of violent crime and their families and to aid families of missing children in the search for their loved ones;

-To provide to governments, news media, and the community a victim's perspective on issues affecting victims of violent crime; and

* Care Closet (practical items for registered clients only)

One-to-one Counselling: this program helps pregnant and parenting youth to make positive decisions for themselves and their child. The community counsellor will help youth in improving their physical and mental health and connect with community and necessary resources.  
We provide help with: 
*Crisis counselling 
*Pre/post natal education and information 
*Advocating on behalf of youth to obtain housing, financial support etc 
*Suggesting and supporting alternatives to abortion 
*Developing safety plans for those in abusive relationships 
*Finding suitable housing, baby items, referrals  
Growing As Parents: Motherhood  
A 12-week life and parenting skills program offered at various locations across Peel Region. Some of the topics covered are: healthy relationships, positive communication, coping as a single parents, anger management, etc. Please note that child minding is available and light snacks are provided.  
Supper Connection: 
A weekly program that focuses on parenting and life skills programming in conjunction with healthy nutrition and food security information sharing. Meals included. Volunteer MBC promotes and supports volunteerism in an effort to connect all people to meaningful volunteer opportunities. 
Our centre offers a referral and matching service for volunteer placement within the community for all ages to include youth, seniors, newcomers and groups. We also serve the corporate community with various programming services that engage individual and group volunteering. 
In addition, we provide education and support for volunteers and community service agencies and organizations through topic and issue related workshops, comprehensive and informative programs, and community outreach.
