Description | SHIP is a non-profit, accredited, housing and health service provider, delivering services for over 30 years, to the Region of Peel, County of Dufferin, West Toronto and most recently the Region of Waterloo. We promote the well-being of vulnerable and at risk populations, working closely with individuals, enabling them to embrace their full potential. Our approach encourages participation in planning and directing personalized supports to ensure clients receive the best possible care Offer help in addressing the issue of homelessness by providing a spectrum of housing and service options to individuals experiencing mental health and/or addiction challenges Programs and services offered at SHIP: Central Intake and Assessment – single point of access for all applications and information Assertive Community Treatment Teams (ACTT) Early Intervention Specialized services: hoarding, trauma, tenant relations, alternative dispute resolution, landlord liaisons Problematic Substance Use (PSU) Supportive Housing – independent living: general mental health, addictions, justice, older adult Recovery Residences – congregate transitional housing with up to 12 hours support, 3 years less a day Peace Ranch – congregate transitional housing with up to 12 hours support, 3 years less a day Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO) – congregate living, up to 24 hours support High Support Program (partnership with CAMH, and Peel Regional Hospitals) Affordable market rent: Hansen and Indwell (housing only) Peer Support Initiatives – employment and training opportunities for service recipients as well as support services Peel Youth Village (PYV) – multi-interdisciplinary service team providing residential support to youth aged 16-24 for one year less a day Integrated Seniors Team Program – promotes older adult health and wellness in Brampton In-STED (In-Short Term Emergency Diversion) – In-STED team members provide services, supports and linkages to other community-based services by working collaboratively with community partners Short Stay Crisis Support Program (SSCSP) – responds to the intensive support needs of individuals with mental illness in a crisis situation Men’s Shelter in Kitchener – emergency housing Peel Family Shelter – emergency housing for families in Peel Region |
