Description Immunizations help to protect the health of children in a community  
 
Students are required to provide proof of immunization against certain diseases in order to attend school in Ontario 
 
By law, students must be immunized against: 
 
•Measles 
•Mumps 
•Rubella 
•Diphtheria 
•Tetanus 
•Polio 
 
 
As of July 2014, students are also required to be immunized against: 
 
•Pertussis (whooping cough) 
•Meningococcal disease 
•Varicella (chicken pox) for students born on or after January 1, 2010 
 
 
Places for immunization: 
 
•family physician 
•walk-in clinics 
•school-based immunization clinics 
•clinics for newcomers 
•flu clinics 
•catch-up clinics 
 
 
Students whose immunization records are incomplete are asked to provide their immunization information to Region of Peel Public Health
