Description | Emergency room care * doctors, nurses, and other health professionals assess and treat life-threatening injuries or severe illness • Medical Assessment Units (MAU): both Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital have opened MAUs for emergency patients who are expected to be treated and discharged with 48 hours. • ER team includes: nurse practitioners, a social worker, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, crisis intervention worker and a geriatric emergency management nurse who helps seniors needing extra support post discharge. |
