| Description | Children's services offers the following programs: Preschool Program - structured early learning opportunities for children whose parents are registered and attending English as a Second Language classes at the Centre School Readiness - provides children from 2 to 6 years of age, who are new to the country, with opportunities to develop language skills, early literacy, creativity, cognitive, sensory and motor skills. Parents accompany their children to the program, and learn about their child’s development needs as well as acquiring new skills themselves or brush up on existing skills. Family Drop-In program - helps children to develop language, cognitive, sensory, creative and gross motor skills development. Targets newcomer children and their parents who have limited knowledge of English language skills. Occasional Child Care Program - to assist newcomer families in accessing and benefitting from services, occasional child care is provided. Available to parents with children from 19 months to 14 years of age. Children attend the program while parents participate and benefit from services |
