Description Provides free telephone support in 8 languages, for the diverse population of the Region of Peel through the following programs and services: 
•Helpline (English) - 24/7 Multilingual Helplines - Mon-Fri,10am-10pm 
•Peel Elder Abuse Support Line - 24/7 
•Telecheck for Seniors Program (55+) -outbound support service 
•Touching Base (16+) - outbound support service

1) 24/7 Helpline (English):  
Provides confidential intervention, and emotional support for anyone who is:•in crisis or suicidal 
•stressed, anxious, sad or depressed 
•isolated and lonely 
•overwhelmed or having difficulty coping with life 
English Helpline is open daily 24 hours

2) Multilingual Help Lines: 
Program offers phone support from Mon-Fri between 10am to 10pm for people who need: 
•crisis support 
•suicide intervention support 
•depression, anxiety or stress 
•relocation 
•abuse 
•job loss 
•isolation and loneliness 
•loss and grief 
•parenting 
•relationship issues 
•acceptance and support 
Outbound check-in calls in 8 languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu 
 
 
Services provided via TTY, and Online Text and Chat  
 
3) Peel Elder Abuse Support Program:  
This Program provides telephone support and information 24/7 to seniors or anyone in the community experiencing elder abuse, or for anyone who knows someone who is being mistreated. When deemed appropriate, and with client consent, Spectra will connect clients to a Family Services of Peel outreach worker. 
 
Together Spectra Helpline and Family Services of Peel are working to promote awareness, discontinue elder abuse, and to keep people safe  
 
4) TeleCheck Seniors Program: English: 289-569-1201 * Cantonese or Mandarin: 289-569-1203 * Portuguese or Spanish: 289-569-1202 * Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu: 289-569-1204  
Provide, ongoing telephone support for isolated seniors. Regular calls provide: 
•medication reminders 
•safety check-ins 
•social calls 
The agency also focus on offering clients a chance to be heard by providing emotional support, companionship and a sense of community 
 
5) Touching Base Program (16+): 289-569-1201-English * 289-569-1203-Cantonese or Mandarin * 289-569-1202-Portuguese or Spanish * 289-569-1204-Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu  
This is a transitional support program for individuals 16+ with mental health issues  
This program is available for 3-6 months during client crisis or transition, (e.g. hospital to home, between services, etc)  
 
Program provides: 
•medication reminders 
•safety checks 
•emotional support 
Program worker and clients work together to reduce feelings of isolation, provide positive coping skills, encourage recovery, and keep people safe
