|Description||Addiction and Concurrent Disorders treatment options at Trillium Health Partners include:
*Individualized assessment, treatment planning and coordination with a social worker or nurse who has expertise in treating concurrent disorders.
*Consultation with a physician who specializes in Addictions Medicine and Concurrent Disorders.
*Consultation with a psychiatrist who specializes in Concurrent Disorders, as deemed necessary.
*A group treatment program designed using the best possible evidenced based treatment modalities.
*Age group: 18+ years
DAVINCI Program for Depression and Alcoholism:
*16 week out-patient integrated care harm-reduction program targeting those with alcohol use disorder (AUD) and major depressive disorder (MDD)
*This program is intended specifically for individuals with concurrent alcohol use disorder and major depressive disorder and offers a structured evidenced-based approach to treatment. These two disorders often occur together but are commonly treated separately, resulting in unsuccessful treatment outcomes and high rates of relapse. DAVINCI aims to improve the treatment of these disorders by targeting AUD and MDD at the same time in the same place.
*The DAVINCI program utilizes evidence-based pharmacotherapy, with first-line treatment options of naltrexone and sertraline. Clients will participate in a weekly 2-hour psychotherapy group with a structured treatment model focused on cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational interviewing
*Inter-professional team comprised of social work, nursing, psychiatry and primary care physicians
The Concurrent Disorders Group:
*16 week out-patient group program grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and recovery principles
*Modulized approach with entry possible every 4-weeks for improved access
*Physician-referred, voluntary, short-term, outpatient, acute care service that can follow inpatient care or can be used as a diversion from in-patient hospitalization
*Goal is to stabilize addiction and concurrent symptoms and increase effective coping skills
*2 hour group session presenting treatment options available at Trillium Health Partners-Credit Valley Hospital available to community members considering treatment for addiction and concurrent disorders
*2 hour group session preparing patients to enter the Concurrent Disorders Group program and to facilitate smooth transition to group treatment modality.
Some groups are run after hours.
