Description | Public Education and awareness activities are targeted to remove stigma and increase identification and treatment of depression and manic depression. Based on concerns of the membership, advocates for responsive system care and promote research into mood disorders. Peer Support Groups: Regular peer support groups are held in locations throughout the province Support Group Calendars for Toronto and around the province: www.mooddisorders.ca/calendar/ Psycho-educational Groups We offer a number of educational programs and groups (Strengthening Families Together, Managing Depression and Anxiety, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP, Coping Through the Arts and Mindfulness in Everyday Living). These groups require pre registration; check the website for details. Family and Youth Programs: www.mooddisorders.ca/program/programs-for-family-members Events: www.mooddisorders.ca/events Individual support: We offer short-term structured one-on-one peer support and counseling for individual and families with mental health challenges. Individual can access up to 8 sessions. Call our warm line for more detail. Public Awareness / Anti Stigma Check Up from the Neck Up: public awareness campaign designed to promote the early identification and treatment of mood disorders: www.checkupfromtheneckup.ca Special Programs Supports for Families and Youth: full time family and youth worker available to support families of young people (14-35yrs) newly diagnosed with mood disorders and psychosis * 416-486-8046 ext 300 |
