Description & Services
Description Medvisit arranges doctors house calls for Greater Toronto Area residents in need of medical care that are frail elderly or housebound. Contact them and they will arrange for a qualified doctor to see you in your own your home. Medical home visits are covered by OHIP, provided you have a valid Ontario Health Card and patients meet the criteria for homebound, or frail elderly.
The exact time of your housecall will depend upon the call volume and geographic call distribution that day.
The doctor will call you within 1-2 hours of the visit to give you an approximate time window for the visit.
Note: It is recommended that you call as early in the day as possible to request a visit. Housecalls are done on a first come, first served basis and doctors are limited to how many house calls they are permitted to do in one day. Doctors will see patients of all ages in their own homes for non-emergent medical problems.
The doctor will use his/her best judgment about management of a medical condition. Please note that it is not always appropriate to prescribe a medication for a given problem. The doctor can provide you with a copy of the medical record for the visit upon request.
