Description The early learning programs that are offered at BridgeWay Family Centre help children develop the skills they need to be successful learners when they get to school. Each of their early learning programs are designed to support a child’s continuum of development by building on typical milestone achievements at each age and stage of a child’s early life. Each of the programs are developed with best practices and current research in child development in mind.

Postpartum Mood Disorder Peer Support Group:  
Free postpartum is available to mothers who are experiencing difficulties adjusting to life with a new baby or are coping with Postpartum Mood Disorder. Mothers can join our free weekly discussion group to meet other mothers and share your ideas, thoughts, and experiences. Childcare is provided in the centre for the duration of the program; mothers are also welcome to bring your baby into the group with them if they prefer. If you have any concerns about changes in your mood or well-being, you can phone or text 905-278-9036.The line is answered between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Email support@bridgewaycentre.ca for free, confidential support and resources. 
 
Prenatal Classes:  
These free classes are being offered in-person. Six-week sessions of interactive prenatal classes. Registration is required. Meet other first-time parents getting ready for the birth of a baby. Participants are asked to attend all sessions of the series so that we can build a supportive group for the longer term.  
 
Key elements include:  
• Labour and delivery  
• Going Home with baby  
• Breastfeeding Basics  
• Pregnancy, delivery and caring for a newborn in a Pandemic  
 
Healthy Start:  
This is a free program is for pregnant individuals who are looking for extra support. The program will provide pregnant women of all ages with the skills, confidence and resources needed to keep themselves and their child healthy throughout their pregnancy and in to the first few months after birth. You will need to speak to a Program team member to see if you are eligible. To participate, contact healthystart@bridgewaycentre.ca or call 647-702-6175. 
Some of the services offered include the following:  
• Interactive online and in-person classes  
• Learn about prenatal nutrition 
• Professional support from various health educators 
• One on one consultation with a social worker and dietitian 
• Information about community resources 
• Healthy meal/snack 
• Grocery gift cards and prenatal vitamins 
 
Growing Together in Peel (GTIP) programs:  
Free programs for families with young children birth to 6 years looking for extra help and living on low incomes. 
We offer play programs, nutrition programs, food security, emotional support, and opportunities for networking and information. To find out if you are eligible for these programs, contact GTIP@bridgewaycentre.ca, or call 647-702-6175.
