Description The Riverwood Conservancy's Enabling Garden is a hands-on teaching garden, fully accessible and innovatively designed to assist children, youth, adults and seniors with physical, cognitive, emotional and/or developmental challenges in the region of Peel. Therapeutic gardening programs are designed to encourage general health and wellness through both passive interaction with the garden and active purposeful gardening activities.The Garden's design, special tools and sensory-stimulating plant compositions provide the benefits of Horticulture Therapy and enable participants to build social skills, confidence and self-esteem in a safe and supportive natural environment. Gardening programs can be customized to support an individual's special needs while building opportunities to participate in fun and informative activities.
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30am-4pm;
Areas Served Peel and surrounding areas.
Eligibility Available for all ages and abilities
Application Referrals accepted from all sources : individuals, families, schools and community organizations.
Fees For a half day Therapeutic Horticulture Program up to 2 hours long:  
*Up to 10 participants: $150; $15 extra for each additional participant to a maximum of 15  
*Full day programs and therapeutic workshops please call for information.  
*Note: No cost for care-givers and assistants.
