Description & Services
Description | Credit Valley Conservation offers a week long volunteer program for youth and students during July and August called Conservation Youth Corps program (CYC). Volunteers are mentored by CVC staff and travel across the watershed to take part in hands-on, environmental stewardship and restoration work. In small volunteer Crews, youth work together alongside CVC staff and community partners to nurture nature in our community. Youth help with projects like stream restoration, habitat creation, and removing invasive species. Each week, volunteers learn first-hand about impacts climate change impacts on local ecosystems. Eligible applicants are watershed residents at least 14 years of age and have completed grade 8 and be returning to school. Participants are picked up each day from a high school and returned to the pickup location at the end of the day (approx. 8am to 1pm). Participants can earn up to 30 community service hours. Application opens in late March or early April each year. Visit our website for more details: https://cvc.ca/cyc/ |
