| Description | Peel Youth Village provides stable transitional housing and support services for youth (ages 16-24) for a maximum of 18 months. We apply a flexible approach to service aimed at building individual strength and resiliency with an emphasis on Housing First principles, a harm reduction philosophy and life skills programming. Physical activity has been proven to reduce stress and increase wellness which is why we operate a fully thriving recreational and community centre facility for our residents and the surrounding Acorn Community. Our goal is to adequately prepare youth with the tools and resources to succeed. To help us accomplish our goals we have dedicated specialists on site to provide case management services to PYV residents and the surrounding Acorn Community. Specialty supports include: - intake & housing - health & wellness - justice - addictions - early intervention mental health - trauma - recreation therapist - vocational (education and employment) |
