All Peel Region families with newborns receive a telephone call from a Public Health Nurse within 48hrs after discharge from the hospital. New parents receive advice and support to help them with the changes a new baby brings, and are offered a home visit by a Public Health Nurse. Families who are isolated and overburdened will have access to the Home Visiting Program, which offers the family the support of a Family Visitor and a Public Health Nurse. Call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700 for more information.
