Description & Services

Description Erin Mills Youth Centre (EMYC) is a youth driven organization. EMYC invests in developing the competencies of youth to shape and run programs, and grow leadership skills needed to assume greater roles throughout the community.

We believe in youth—all youth—and their capacity to make a powerful contribution to the community in which they live. Our goal is to work with youth to not only personally overcome the barriers they face, but to also work together with community partners and stakeholders to address the systemic nature of these barriers.

Our mandate includes the establishment, maintenance and operation of a community youth centre in collaboration with community groups, faith organizations, public institutions in Peel Region for the purpose of improving access to services for youth, to provide recreation, education, and other activities for youth, and to focus our work in such a way as to alleviate the effects of racism, poverty, and other social barriers, while promoting public health in youth and their community.
