Description The Public Works and Engineering Department maintains city roads and associated infrastructure * handles applications for driveway widening and curb cut applications * excess load permits * fill/top soil removal applications * items for sale including: street indexes, plan and profile drawings, benchmarks and horizontal control data, municipal parking lot permits and traffic data * major road design and construction administration * PUCC applications and approvals * road closure (social events/parades/marathons) applications * road occupancy and access permits * road right of way contracted maintenance and administration * school crossing guard administration * snow removal financial assistance program * storm drainage issues * street lighting inquiries * traffic services * traffic signals and regulatory signage * *new subdivision construction oversight *Capital Works is responsible for developing and implementing major city road widening projects.
