| Description | Language Assessment Centres are funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and operated by the Centre for Education & Training. Language Assessment Centres provide language proficiency assessments based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks to individuals seeking to learn or improve their English. Clients are assessed and then referred to language training classes, such as the Language Instruction to Newcomer to Canada (LINC) and Enhanced Language Training (ELT) programs, in Peel and Halton Regions. Language Assessment Centres partner with 23 language training service providers in Peel and Halton regions. Appointments for assessments are necessary. Language training classes are full-time or part-time (mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Free child minding is available at some of these locations. The LINC Home Study Program is available to those who cannot attend regular LINC classes. Deaf and hard-of hearing students welcome.
