Welcoming Communites Program offers
The Newcomer Family Drop-In Program: Is designed for children 2 to 12 years. Promotes the development of language, cognitive, sensory, creative and gross motor skills development. Targets newcomer children and their parents who have limited knowledge of English language skills. While children are learning and creating, parents are involved in workshops and seminars that develop better parenting skills. Parents learn more about their children’s development, are encouraged to use these techniques at home to foster continued growth of acquired skills and positive learning opportunities for their children.
English Conversation Circle (ECC): Participants have an opportunity to practice every day English language skills and build self-confidence.
Cooking Club: Participants share recipes from all over the work and cook healthy meals while at the same time networking with other program participants.
Movie Night: Participants watch family oriented movies which generate lively discussions and is a great opportunity for newcomers to practice their english skills
