DescriptionThe Rexdale Women's Centre is an independent, not-for-profit, voluntary agency that serves high-need women and their family members 
 
Violence Prevention and Crisis Intervention provides the following services:  
 
Assistance for Women Victim of Domestic Violence, Violence Prevention and Crisis Counselling: Provides one-on-one assistance to women in dealing with the violence women experience in their lives. Counsellors assist women understand the cycle of abuse and help develop safety plans and address a life free of vioilence for themselves and possibly their children 
 
Medical and Legal Referrals and Client Accompaniment: Staff provide culturally and linguistically sensitive services in guiding/navigating women to obtain medical, legal and court services and sometimes will accompany them on these visits 
 
Support Groups for Women on Spousal Abuse: Support groups offer women a unique opportunity to gain information, share experiences and build confidence and develop safety plans when dealing with abuse. The Centre provides women with information about their rights and how they can be supportive to other women who are experiencing spousal abuse. 
 
Partner Assault Response Group: The Centre runs groups for court-mandated male offenders to better understand the violence against women, work on accepting responsibility for their violent behaviour and to develop strategies to deal with anger and voilent outbursts. The Centre regularly contacts their female spouses/partners with a goal to ensure the safety of the women and their children
