| Description | The Serenity Centre will provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, enhanced personal support service to achieve the client’s full potential in life through an individualized program which encourages self-reliance, confidence, and independence. Providing services to individuals who have behavioural, cognitive, developmental, social, mental, and learning disorders who are 16 years of age or older. Offering both individual and group services. Individual services are developed through a thorough intake assessment which has been created to help emphasize the personal goal(s) of the client along with the goal(s) of the family. With this information an individualized program is constructed and implemented with an Enhanced Support Worker. The program is then monitored weekly by a supervisor to ensure the goals are being met and the program is running efficiently. TSC offers 2 types of group services: * WORKSHOPS: offered for 2 hours a week for an average duration of 4 – 12 weeks. Workshops will be held as long as there are at least 4 – 6 participants enrolled. * CLASSES: offered for 2 hours a week for an average duration of 18 – 20 weeks. Classes will be held as long as there are 6 – 8 participants enrolled. In addition, TSC workshop and classes are made available at The Serenity Centre’s site, within your own facility or another location for more accessible services Each of the services listed below can be offered individually and within a group. * Friendship/Relationship Skills * Hygiene Skills * Social Skills * Social Outings/Recreational Activities * Building on Self-Esteem * Employment/Volunteer Supports * General Community Supervision * General Life Skills * Anxiety Management * Relaxation Strategies * Understanding Feelings/Emotions * Educational Supports * Abuse Prevention * Building on Family Relationships * Cyber Safety * Drug/Alcohol Awareness * Anger Management (In Progress) * Healthy Sexuality (In Progress) Community Resources and Funding Support: TSC provides information regarding additional resources available within the community and provides support in understanding and applying for different types of funding. | |||
