DescriptionMunicipal planning and development department * responsible for the land development approval process, from the planning of raw land through the processing of development applications and building permit issuance to final building inspections * responsible for processing development applications in accordance with the goals and objectives of the City Plan (Official Plan), particularly: rezoning, Official Plan amendments, subdivisions and site plans * provides information and advice regarding land development matters to City Council, the public, developers, consultants and others * responsible for administering the Ontario Building Code and other applicable law * Building Engineering and Inspections is responsible for the inspection of construction in Mississauga * Customer Services and Zoning Administration processes building permits and Zoning certificates and interprets zoning by-laws * Mechanical Engineering and Inspections are also responsible for the inspection of construction in Mississauga
