Description Comprehensive diabetes education to people living with type 2 diabetes and those at risk of developing diabetes (pre-diabetes)  
The program and its services are free of charge and delivered by diabetes nurse educators and registered dietitians * group or private meetings are available  
Teaches people with type 2 diabetes to: 
•reduce risk of complications  
•deal with emotions connected to having the disease  
•monitor sugar levels and keep within target range  
•manage stress  
•control weight  
•prevent and manage foot problems  
•take medications correctly  
•develop a healthy eating plan  
•meet and learn from other people with diabetes  
Teaches people at risk of diabetes to: •bring down glucose levels  
•design a plan to lose those few extra pounds  
•learn how to read labels and make healthy food choices when grocery shopping  
•get moving with a regular and realistic physical activity plan 
•take medications correctly
