Description & Services
Description In-home support is provided by specially-trained volunteers•visiting volunteers can provide a reassuring presence, companionship and comfort, both for palliative individuals receiving care at home and for their home caregivers and family members  
•in-home volunteer support can also provide caregivers with personal time to go out or to rest- respite care 
Volunteer support services are provided to clients and their families wherever home is: home, hospital, long-term care facility, retirement home, hospice, shelter etc. 
 
Typically visit is provided once a week, for one to three hours, on any given day of the week, as requested. 
 
The duration of a visiting volunteer match depends on the needs of the client but will be reassessed every three months by the coordinator.

Eligibility People living with the challenges of life-limiting illness and their families * anyone who has suffered through grief and loss (bereavement) or spiritual distress
