Description & Services

Description Ephraim’s Place Community Centre offers a variety of programs like “Adopt A Block”, “Refresh” Community Service Program, “Upward” Sports Mentoring League, “Project HEARTcore” After School Program, “Role Model Moms”, and “Employment Services Program”.. Refresh is a community development program based on painting the interior of homes in high risk communities in Toronto and the Region of Peel. We recruit and train volunteers to partner with host families to paint their homes. Residents are encouraged to help paint their neighbours' homes, thus creating a strong partnership in the community. Host families provide lunch for themselves and their work team that celebrates their culture of origin. End of the day debrief conversations collect information on community needs and encourage residents to help meet the needs in their own community. The end result is a fresh coat of paint, strengthened relationships, deeper sense of ownership in the community, a database of needs, and a core group of people willing to meet the needs.
