Description | The Serenity Centre provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, enhanced personal support service to achieve the client’s full potential in life through an individualized program which encourages self-reliance, confidence, and independence. Providing services to individuals who have mental health, behavioural, cognitive, developmental, social, and learning disorders who are 16 years of age or older. Offering both individual and group services. Sessions are offered in the clients home or within the community. Space can be arranged near the clients home for sessions or meetings as well. Assessment Services: Providing socio-sexual assessments, risk and threat assessments, knowledge and skills assessments. Providing assessments, treatment recommendations and individualized therapy for persons with a mental health diagnosis and/or a learning or developmental disability. Serenity Supports also offers assessments, recommendations for treatment and supervision as well as therapy for persons with inappropriate sexual behaviours or offences. Offers both individual and group services. Individual services are developed through a thorough intake assessment which has been created to help emphasize the personal goal(s) of the client along with the goal(s) of the family. With this information an individualized program is constructed and implemented with an Enhanced Support Worker. The program is then monitored weekly by a supervisor to ensure the goals are being met and the program is running efficiently. Counselling and management of anxiety, depression, OCD, ADD/ADHD, addictions and eating disorders Individualized Goal development programs for independence Community Access Transition Program Self Regulation and Good Lives Model treatment and therapies Risk Management General Community Supervision Choices, decision making and problem solving Communication Relaxation Strategies Hygiene Skills Building on Self-Esteem General Life Skills Understanding Feelings/Emotions Abuse Prevention Building on Family Relationships Social Skills Employment/Volunteer Supports Anxiety Management Educational Supports Cyber Safety Drug/Alcohol Awareness Anger Management Healthy Sexuality *Each of the services listed above can be offered individually and within a group. Serenity Supports offers 2 types of group services: * Workshops: offered for 2 hours a week for an average duration of 4 – 12 weeks. Workshops will be held as long as there are at least 4 – 6 participants enrolled. * Classes: offered for 2 hours a week for an average duration of 18 – 20 weeks. Classes will be held as long as there are 6 – 8 participants enrolled. In addition, Serenity’s workshops and classes are made available within your own facility or another location for more accessible services Training and Education: Training and education is provided for families and all members of the support team Training is also available for agency staff and professionals on our programs and services. Virtual Resources and Links to Services Community Resources and Funding Serenity provides information regarding additional resources available within the community and provides support in understanding and applying for different types of funding |
