Description & Services

Description The Dual Diagnosis Systems Support Program provides short term enhanced service coordination and systems navigation to children/youth ages 6-18 diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, or Autism Spectrum Disorder and severe behavioural problems and/or mental health concerns and their families/caregivers and agencies in Peel Region, while building capacity within the 
Children’s Mental Health and Developmental Services systems. The program works in collaboration with the agencies that support the families. The program assists families that have difficulty accessing and identifying appropriate services in the community. Psychiatric assessment and medication review for second opinions in complex case is available. Psychological and behavioural consultation may also be provided when appropriate.

Referrals can be made by Case Managers/Service Coordinators in collaboration with families. Referrals must be made before the youth's 18th birthday. Consultation can be provided for children under the age of 6.
