Description & Services

Alternate Name C.O.P.E Canine Opportunity ; People Empowerment
Description COPE Service Dogs is a registered charity that unleashes potential in youth, seniors, and people with disabilities through the training and placement of skilled service dogs for people with mobility disabilities. Our programs include: Canines in the Classroom (CIC), Reading Buddy, Community Outreach, and Facility Clients.

Working with COPE Service Dogs in our CIC Program in high school helps students who face different challenges build self-esteem. Students are empowered by providing a positive impact within the community as they participate in outreach to seniors in institutions and the Reading Buddy Program which encourages young students to be motivated to read. As the dogs graduate, the students “turn over the leash” to people with mobility issues, giving them access to broader physical and social opportunities.
