Description/Eligibility/Service Details

Description An independent, non-profit organization that promotes social justice by facilitating citizen participation in the identification of social issues and in the planning and implementation of collaborative actions to address those issues * provides the following services: (A) Research: examines social problems and needs in Peel * develops options for addressing those problems and needs * provides basic socio-economic information on the Peel population (B) Public Education: disseminates information about social problems and needs of the community in Peel and the options for addressing them (workshops, training, publications, etc) (C)Community Development: facilitates coordination and cooperation among agencies in the social services sector of Peel * facilitates the development of new services/agencies in Peel (D) Consultation: provides professional research and training services to community groups, public and private sector service providers, and funders. SPC provides organizational development services to community groups and fledgling organizations on request.
