Description & Services
Alternate Name ACER
Description The Association for Canadian Educational Resources (ACER) is building an army of citizen scientists who can monitor, measure, mitigate, and adapt to the local impacts of climate change in their own communities. An incorporated not-for-profit organization and founded in 1987. Our members are leaders in education, media and business who initiate and facilitate development, production and promotion of Canadian materials to meet the needs of today’s learners. ACER believes that sound ecological action depends on monitoring and responding at the community level. Our current focus is ecological monitoring to track environmental change. ACER’s dynamic volunteer network of community groups, educators and scientists teaches pro-active approaches to monitoring and restoring ecosystem health through hands-on programs.
