Description Coroner's office * provides guidance and reports under the Coroners Act to family members of the deceased for coroner investigated deaths only * conducts inquests * responsible for completion of Cremation Certificates and Certificates for Shipment of Bodies outside of Ontario * organ donation for transplants now handled by Ontario Ministry of Health & Long Term Care (Trillium Gift of Life Network) * for more information about the Trillium Gift of Life Network Act, call 416-351-7328 * 1-800-263-2833 * contact the Registrar General's Office, Thunder Bay for Death Certificates 
 
* administers donations of bodies for medical education and research * supervises and educates investigating coroner and pathologists in Ontario  
 
* reports include public safety recommendations

Regional and Investigating Coroners on call Mon-Sun 24hrs

Eligibility Coroners in Ontario must be a physician, licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Fees Service - Fee charged to Family via Funeral Homes for Cremation Certificates & shipment certificates. ; Publications ; No charge for coroner's investigation reports to family or their authorized representative. Service-fee charged to family via Funeral Homes for cremation certificates and shipment certificates.
