- Conference Call pre-planning for program 
- Conference Call wrap up after program 
- Participate in training and meetings; contribute as part of the staff and volunteer team

- Visit a client in his/her home or other suitable environment at a mutually convenient time. 
- Activities are determined by client need and mutually agreed upon. 
- Approved activities are: reading / organizing, walking, assisting with errands and friendly visiting. 
- Volunteers do not: clean, cook, provide personal care, do home repairs, give advice, provide counseling, do heavy lifting. 
- All outings are on foot, by public transportation, taxi or Handibus; Vision Mate volunteers do not drive clients. 
- Schedule visits on a consistent basis.

CNIB Ambassador [ More info  ]    
To educate the public about vision loss, promote vision health, and enhance awareness of CNIB and our services. 
- Speak on behalf of CNIB to community groups, corporations, schools, seniors’ centres, vision health professionals, etc. 
- Use your multi-lingual language skills in speaking with ethno-cultural community groups OR share your personal experience with vision loss and CNIB 
- Set up and staff displays at community information forums with other volunteers and/or staff 
- Demonstrate technical aids with other volunteers and/or staff 
- Submit a report within one week after each presentation  
- Attend ongoing training as requested
