Volunteer Engagement Assistant (Youth) [ More info  ]  
This volunteer position is ideal for youth who are aspiring to be professionals in the fields of human resources, social services, community development or employment assistance. It is ideal for high school students to volunteer during the summer vacation. 
 
The primary role of this position is to successfully match prospective volunteers with community agencies.  
 
Responsibilities; 
- Promote the referral service of Volunteer MBC to the high school student population through social media. 
- Identify their passions and areas of interest and, then provide referrals to Volunteer MBC volunteer opportunities within Volunteer MBC member organizations. 
- Provide referrals to clients in accordance with Volunteer MBC established timelines.  
- Input referral activities to Volunteer MBC's Referral Management System (at present a Microsoft Access database). 
- Communicate information related to the referral process, with students via e-mail, post, phone call, face to face and/or fax. 
- Take part in the training and development programs that will be organized for the enhancement of skills required by the role.

Major Duties: 
- Assist staff in planning, running, and set up/take down of NYLD activities 
- Assist with program preparation (e.g. photocopying, planning games and activities, calling participants, etc.)  
- Assist with running of weekly activities including supervising outings and ensuring the safety of the youth, planning and facilitating icebreaker and team-building activities and helping with activity set up and post-activity clean up (if needed)

This volunteer position is ideal for someone with human resources or job developer skills/background. Marketing and/or new business development skills would also be an asset. Placement students in courses/programs that encompass the duties of this role are also welcome to apply for this volunteer position. 
 
The primary role of this position is to oversee Volunteer MBC's Caledon Centre, which is located at the Albion-Bolton Branch of Caledon Public Library twice a month (the 1st and 3rd Thursday from 2pm to 6pm). 
 
You will successfully match potential volunteers with community agencies, this position will review client information provided in “Volunteer Opportunity Request Forms (VORFs)” and Resumes and, provide referrals to Volunteer MBC member organizations who are requesting volunteer assistance. You will also play an active role in promoting volunteerism to visitors of the library, at the community centre and throughout the community. 
 
Key Responsibilities; 
 
Referral Service Related: 
- Meet with individuals to promote volunteerism and to demonstrate how to browse our online database to search for volunteer opportunities. 
- Review "Volunteer Opportunity Request Forms (VORF)" and Resumes and, conduct research for local volunteer opportunities based on the clients’ skills, strengths, talents, interests, qualifications and objectives. A sample of the VORF is available in our website. 
- Provide referrals to clients in accordance with Volunteer MBC established timelines.  
 
Marketing and Outreach Related: 
- Explore community outreach opportunities (via phone while on-site) to promote Volunteer MBC at local schools and other key areas. 
- Assist Volunteer MBC with prospecting Caledon-based member organizations. 
- Explore potential marketing/promotional opportunities in the Caledon community to promote the centre's satellite location (i.e. media relations, community bulletin boards, etc.). 
- Assist with the coordination of on-site "volunteer fairs" or opportunities where volunteers could connect directly with member organizations. 
 
General: 
Take part in the training and development programs that will be organized for the enhancement of skills required by the role.
