Opportunity Details

Duties of Role

1. Get storage key from recreation office and get the horseshoe's game out
2. Step outside on the front lawn
3. Please call or knock on the door of the residents on the list and ecourage them to come out and play
4. Write names of the residents on the back of the attendance sheet to keep score
5. Start the game and play at least 3 to 4 rounds
6. Encourage newcomers to participate and give it a try
7. Take attendance (when in doubt ask the residents to tell you their name)
8. Clean up the game and put it back in the storage room
9. Sign out on the time sheet on the volunteer board
10. Slide attendance sheet under the Volunteer Coordinator's door

- To promote residents opportunities for successful involvement in a competitve or non-competitive game
- To stimulate mental skills by use of cognitive facilities such as memory recall and concentration
- To encourage social interaction and teamwork from participants in order to successfully complete the game
