| Duties of Role | Are you passionate about volunteering? Do you thrive on helping others in your community? Do you want to have a voice to help promote the importance and benefits of volunteering? Volunteer MBC, the local volunteer centre serving the Region of Peel (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon), is looking for individuals who can become an integral part of our team as you will lend your voice to assist us with our mission delivery. Duties of the Volunteer Ambassador include: - Establishing contact with identified community target groups - Responding to booth/display requests from Volunteer MBC staff or external sources - Deliver, set-up and staff booth/display at specific locations - Be able to answer questions from the public and refer individuals back to Volunteer MBC, where appropriate - Present an overview to Volunteer MBC and the importance of volunteering to various groups (i.e. youth, older adults, newcomers, etc.) - Be a voice for volunteerism in the community | |||

| Qualifications/Certification | - A strong passion for volunteering - Good organizational skills - Knowledge of local community - Daytime availability and occasional evening/weekends, as required, within reason - Strong oral and written communication skills - Public relations and/or customer relations experience an asset | |||
| Length of Commitment | Medium Term (between 3 to 6 months) ; This volunteer role requires a minimum commitment of three months. The volunteer must have a flexible schedule to be able to attend events off-site and be able to assist with display development during office hours. | |||
