Description	The Rexdale Women's Centre is an independent, not-for-profit, voluntary agency that serves high-need women and their family members    Parenting    Parenting and Family Supportive Counselling  Newcomer, immigrant and refugee parents and grandparents need support to raise healthy children in a new country with different cultures, values and languages. Financial resources may be inadequate and families are at greater risk of poverty and isolation. The Centre provides support to parents and families to cope with the many challenges and rewards of raising healthy children    Nobody's Perfect Parenting Groups  Connecting, sharing and building skills with peers are often effective tools in addressing the lack of confidence, self-esteem and skills when parenting. Some newcomer parents and grandparents lack the social networks and supports. The Centre offers parenting groups where participants learn about child development, effective discipline methods, information on Canadian institutions and service. Participants share skills, views and ideas and by the end of the group session develop social support networks.
