DescriptionThe Rexdale Women's Centre is an independent, not-for-profit, voluntary agency that serves high-need women and their family members.  
 
Newcomer Assistance and Integration Program offers the following services 
 
Immigrant Settlement and Orientation Services: The Centre offers services in 20 different languages at various locations throughout Rexdale and the City of Toronto. Services include: orientation, translation, interpretation, referral to community resources, solution focused counselling, general information, employment-related services,and assistance with accessing government services and forms

Time: Mon-Thu 9 am-5 pm, Wed 9 am-8 pm, Fri 9 am-5 pm

English Language Instruction: The ability to understand and speak English enables newcomers to fully participate in life in Canada. In the Canadian labour market, English is a must and a second language is an asset. Individuals destined for the labour market, regardless of level of expertise, need to be able to read, write and speak English 
Language Training: Classes are available for Permanent Residents, Ministerial Permit holders or individuals who have been recognized as Convention Refugees. The Centre offeres various part-time and full-time classes ranging from Level 1 to Level 4. The Language Training program's curriculum focuses on building day-to-day English language skills with emphasis on orientation and information for newcomers about Canadian systems and services. The programme is also focused on building participants' computers skills. The Centre offers free childminding services to eligible participants as well as transportation assistance

Language Training Childminding: Available to parents with children from 6 months to 5 years of age who are registered and attending the Language Instruction program. Children participate in daily activities such as reading, story-telling, singing and creating crafts in a welcoming and stimulating environment
