| Description | Rexdale Community Health Centre through its Community Programs offers a variety of Support and Drop-In services listed below: Hearing Impairment: Drop-In social program for those experiencing loss of hearing, helps reduce social isolation and builds community connections between family and community, activities include social and health education Ext 231 Jamestown Women's Group: Designed for women who are isolated, frustrated and have difficulty coping with stress and is planned to exchange and share life experiences, to provide a place where women can meet and socialize and also build self-esteem through activities. Parent/Child Drop-In: For children age 0-6 years who have difficulty in speaking and communicating with their parents or caregivers, also gives an excellent opportunity for parents and caregivers to play with their children, to develop new parenting skills and learn about other cultures. The group runs every Thursday from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. Ext 223 Client Support Services: Intake for clinical services, short term counselling, assessment and referral, form filing for clients, advocacy and coordination of client serivces Ext 223 Diabetes Support Group: Monthly group meeting providing inforation to assist individuals to manage diabetes and avoid development of other health issues such as heart and liver disease. Guest speakers and staff provide information on a variety of topics. Meetings held on Wednesday (each month) from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Ext 223 Immigration and Refugee Advice: Provides service of a lawyer to assist people who have questions about the Immigration and Refugee process. Service provided on Monday 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm (except statutory holidays) Ext.223 Special Events A number of special events organized to celebrate the diversity and health of the community. Events include: African History Month, International Women's Day, Inernational Day for the Elimination of Racism, South Asian Month Celebration, Community Health Day. | |||
