| Description | Specialty Care Woodhall Park Long Term Care Centre is a 3-storey, 147 beds (60 standard, 87 private) long term care facility, developed in partnership with Woodhall Park Retirement Home and managed by Specialty Care. This is a smoke-free facility. Woodhall Park offers care for dementia, challenging behaviors, neurological and gait/movement disorders (such as stroke, Parkinson Disease) and care for the frail elderly, palliative care or high intensity needs care. The facility provides registered dietitian consultant services, physiotherapy services and foot care services at no charge to the resident. Additional therapy services such as occupational therapy, speech and language pathology can be arranged by the facility at the resident/family's request through the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) or arranged at a minimal cost to the resident should they choose to use the consultant therapist. Long-term care residences, also known as nursing homes and homes for the aged, are operated by private companies, local governments and not-for-profit organizations, and are regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Accommodation rates, which are set by the provincial government on an annual basis, include: 24-hr nursing and personal care Medical care and medical supplies Personal hygiene supplies and equipment All meals and snacks Social, recreational and physical activities programs Laundry services and daily housekeeping including residents' personal clothing and labeling Separate charges apply for special medications, private telephone line, nurse escort services, cable TV and other items that are fully explained prior to completion of the admission contract | |||
