| Description | Friends & Advocates Peel is a Community Adult Social Rehabilitation Organization serving those in Central West and Mississauga/Halton LHINS. The mission of Friends & Advocates Peel: is to provide a variety of support services to those who have experienced, and are recovering from, mental/emotional distress which has led to social isolation, so that they can gain confidence and maintain themselves as active participants, in their own community, as they themselves would define it. Activities include a Consumer Governance Model, Discussion Groups and Social opportunities. Provides training in leadership, presentation, DJ Club & Theatre Company Programs. The organization also provides lifestyle counselling and crisis intervention (24 hours - Though the Mobile Crisis Unit of Peel). (Transportation subsidies are provided for some activities). Friends & Advocates Peel has been Designated the Consumer Survivor Intiative for Central West LHIN. The Consumer-Survivor Network for Central West operates out of our offices and under this banner the Consumer-Survivor Youth and Young Adult Network also operates. | |||
