| Description | Services for individuals recovering from an addiction or concurrent disorder include: INITIAL ASSESSMENT By professional staff, to assess the severity of the problem and begin a treatment plan. MEDICAL ASSESSMENT Program physicians conduct a medical consultation as part of an individual's initial assessment process and to screen for related medical problems. Follow up support is available throughout recovery. PSYCHIATRIC ASSESSMENT/TREATMENT Program psychiatrist available for assessment, consultation and treatment planning for individuals in the program with a concurrent disorder ASSESSMENT AND PREPARATION GROUP Weekly early treatment group for individuals to establish and assess readiness for Day Treatment or Relapse Prevention Group. Here, individuals meet other people with similar problems, and begin to make changes toward recovery. EDUCATION GROUP A four week education-focused group to enhance awareness of the impact of addiction and increase motivation towards change DAY TREATMENT A 3-week, intensive, Monday to Friday outpatient, abstinence based group treatment program that helps individuals to learn about their own addiction and provide them with the tools needed to build a life-long recovery plan. INTENSIVE RECOVERY WORK GROUP This 12 week group series may be offered to those chemically dependent clients who have previously completed our Day Treatment program, or have had a period of good recovery, but who have suffered one or more relapses RECOVERY GROUPS Weekly aftercare groups for clients who have attended Day Treatment or Relapse Prevention Group to help clients practice the skills learned in Treatment. Services for families of chemically dependent individuals include: FAMILY DAY A full day, educational program offered approximately once a month to help families understand the illness of chemical dependency and the role they can play in the recovery process. | |||

| Meetings | Information Session meetings held every other Wednesday at 2:30pm Valley House, 2nd Flr, Credit Valley Hospital, 2200 Eglinton Ave W, Mississauga (small two storey building right beside the parking exit at the Credit Valley Hospital) Registration necessary before attending the information session. Call 905-813-4402 to register and also have your health card on hand as this is needed to register. | |||
