Description & Services
Description	Provides assessment and crisis intervention to those who have severe and persistent mental illness, mental health problems, addiction problems; concurrent disorders and also to those who are in distress due to psychosocial stressors. Family and/or significant others are included. The Crisis Intervention Team collaborates with the Emergency Team; other hospital program; Community partners and other relevant services, to develop and implement appropriate intervention strategies. Consultation to the community is provided on mental health and psychosocial issues.  The Crisis Intervention program however, is part of the Emergency Department.
Hours	Mon-Sun 24 hours
Areas Served	Etobicoke ; Greater Toronto Area ; All Areas
Eligibility	Ages: 16 year(s) and up
Application	No referral is necessary; patients are first triaged in the Emergency Department to rule out potential non-psychiatric causes of symptoms as well as to ensure medical stability
