|Description||Group Programs: |
Moms and kids group programs available for women helping their children deal with the impacts of exposure to woman abuse. Programs are for mothers with children aged 0 - 12 and interpreters are available if necessary. Families of all religious and ethnic backgrounds are welcomed, and programs are offered in Brampton and Mississauga during evenings and weekends. Call for information on group availability.
Individual and family counselling offered to mothers with children up to age 16, to provide support to families who have experienced partner abuse and help children heal.
Lyrical Quest is offered as one session per week for 8 weeks, and is a group program for adolescents who have been exposed to violence or are interested in violence prevention. The focus is on using music, spoken word, and expressive arts as a therapeutic intervention to stimulate discussion regarding various facets of violence such as social issues, family conflict, community and cultural beliefs. Adolescents are also taught skills that help them to develop healthy relationships.
|Services offered include:||A 10 week group program helping children cope with the impact of having been exposed to (seeing, hearing about) abuse directed at their mother. Mothers and children participate. Groups run consecutively for ages newborn-12yrs.|
