| Description | Offers individual counselling for adolescents and young adults (14-24yrs), residing in Peel region. Helps youth build on their strengths and improve how they feel and function at home, school, and in the community. Also provides youth with links to community resources and supports, including the Nexus Youth Centre, located on the second floor of the Mississauga Central Library which is also a program of Nexus. Nexus Youth Centre offers drop-in activities such as social recreation, computer/internet access, job & housing board and community resource referral and information. It also offers volunteer opportunities and formal groups for youth to engage with others learning topics that interest them such as healthy sexuality, life skills, social competency, recreation, creative expression and peer support. | |||

| Application | Under 16yrs: referral may be made by parent or youth Over 16yrs: youth must call to complete the referral Young people who are interested in individual counselling are encouraged to call the intake line 905-451-4655 to book a telephone intake. If deemed appropriate for Nexus, upon completion of the intake, a first appointment will be offered within 2-3 weeks (appointments are usually held either at the office or at Nexus Youth Centre). There is a waiting list for longer-term counselling services. Young people who are interested in Nexus Youth Centre can visit any time during its operating hours or call 905-566-1883 for more information. | |||
