| Description | The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and is a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy and health promotion to transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues. Our central facilities are located in Toronto, Ontario, and we have nine offices across the province to provide support to the mental health system. CAMH was formed in 1998 as a result of the merger of the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, the Addiction Research Foundation, the Donwood Institute and Queen Street Mental Health Centre. | |||
| Services offered include: | The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), an Ontario teaching hospital, is the largest addiction and mental health organization in Canada. CAMH offers leading-edge care and treatment, research facilities, an extensive education and training program, as well as health promotion and prevention programs. With the range of expertise in one organization, CAMH is uniquely positioned to transform new knowledge into practical resources that can be used to help people affected by addiction and mental health problems in Ontario, Canada and beyond. Central facilities are located in Toronto, but through 26 community locations, CAMH actively works with local service providers across Ontario to improve the quality and accessibility of services based on the best available information and knowledge.
