| Description | Brampton Caledon Community Living (BCCL) supports people with a developmental disability, in partnership with their families and the community, to lead enriched and meaningful lives. Some of the services are: RESPITE AND FAMILY SUPPORTS Provides information, makes referrals for individuals and families to other community programs, and assists families to access social services programs. Assistance is provided to parents to help them understand special education issues and to provide support and advocacy. Through Respite, families receive funding to obtain respite and are assisted in planning and accessing natural supports. PRESCHOOL RESOURCE PROGRAM AND CHILDREN'S SERVICES Preschool-aged children with a developmental disability are supported in their community nursery schools and daycare centres. When the child is ready to enter the school system, the Resource Teacher assists with the transition. CONNECTIONS Designed to address the needs of recent graduates of the school system. This program, conducted in both Brampton and Caledon, helps young adults with a developmental disability make a successful transition from school to a wide range of community participation activities and work.
