Description/Eligibility/Service Details
DescriptionPBSO is a self-help organization committed to supporting parents and their families who have experienced the death of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, medical termination, stillbirth or neonatal death. PBSO is a charitable organization, offering tax receipts for donations. 
 
PBSO offers the following services:  
Self-help groups and one-to-one telephone support for bereaved parents facilitated by trained bereaved parents 
Self-help groups for parents experiencing subsequent pregnancy after a loss 
Educational programs for health care professionals on perinatal loss 
Memorials and fundraising events held throughout the year 
Website at www.pbso.ca, where parents can light a candle in memory of their baby 
 
Self-help support groups take place in several locations throughout Ontario, including Brampton, Toronto (three locations), Durham/Scarborough, Markham, Woodstock/London, Peterborough, Barrie and Sault Ste Marie. Groups generally run in the evenings welcoming both mothers and fathers, alone or as a couple; there is no charge for this service. Parents can join the groups at any time by calling the PBSO office to register.
