| Description | Summer Day Camps at various locations throughout Caledon Summer Activity Camp 5-12 yrs This unique Caledon Youth Services’ camp offers your camper(s) a great opportunity to explore a variety of fun and exciting activities. Caledon Youth Services’ camps provide an array of activities such as; large group games, outdoor games, basic sports, songs, arts and crafts, swimming, gymnasium games, Rockclimbing and skateboarding! Our goal is to ensure that every camper has fun, makes friends and learns new skills while being in a safe, positive learning environment. Our dedicated camp staff is focused on providing a safe, welcoming environment to participants of all abilities. Variety Camp 7-12 yrs Foster life-long friends and lasting memories with this traditional summer day camp offered at convenient locations throughout Caledon. This much loved camp offers the basics of day camp with a variety of innovative active games and activities. Also enjoy additional daily activities like Arts and Crafts (Monday) Cooking (Tuesday) swimming (Wednesday), trips (Thursday) and theme days (Friday). Located in Bolton, Caledon East and Mayfield Counselor in Training 15+ yrs The C.I.T. program is a one week course that is intended to provide enthusiastic individuals the certifications and skills needed to become a camp leader. This level builds on the basic skills and includes certification in Emergency First Aid. Participants also learn program planning and execution with a hands-on experience implementing the annual Camp Carnival. (credit towards community service hours) Bakers Dozen Camp 8-13yrs A great introduction to the world of baking with emphasis on kitchen safety and allergy awareness. Learn to make great baked goods with recipes you can take home. cookies, cakes, cup cakes, cakes, chocolate, icing, sprinkles and much more. Dramatic Arts Camp 8-13 yrs Children and teens will dive into the theatrical world for a wonderful two-week camp. Our camp puts kids center-stage for acting, improvisation, movement, lighting, and stage make-up. On the final Friday, the class will share what they’ve learned with family and friends for a festive afternoon that celebrates the wonderful art of drama. Jr. Firefighter Camp 7-9yrs Ever wonder what it is like to be a firefighter? Participants will learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher and fire hose and receive training on our specialized tools and equipment. Water day will be a big hit when kids actually get to spray water! Also enjoy additional activities like swimming (Wednesdays) and a local trip. Leader in Training 14+ yrs Each L.I.T completes a one-week experiential training course as well as a one week on-site volunteer placement that can be used as a credit toward community service hours. This level includes a day trip to Mansfield Outdoor Centre to participate in a high ropes experience. This is a great introduction to the basic leadership skills needed in becoming a camp leader. (credit towards community service hours) Little Critters Camp 3-5 yrs For our youngest adventurer who will experience a fun, safe, and social environment to engage in crafts, songs, games, stories and outdoor fun. This program offers convenient half day (9am –12pm OR 1pm - 4pm) or full day (9am - 4pm) options. Please bring a lunch for the full day program. (Must be toilet trained) Outdoor Camp 8-13 yrs Learn about Caledon’s connected series of trails while hiking, biking. Practice outdoor survival skills like shelter building, outdoor cookery and navigation. Learn more about how we can be more “green” and support Mother Earth in reducing our environmental footprint. Also enjoy additional daily activities like swimming and daily outdoor adventure. Shelter and an indoor facility provided in inclement weather. Sports Camp 8-13 yrs This camp program develops and refines new skills relating to various sports including tennis, rugby, basketball, floor hockey, golf, baseball and many more while teaching the importance of fair play and teamwork. Also enjoy additional daily activities like a specific sport lesson, swimming, rockclimbing, and flipside Skateboard camp 8–13 years This camp will teach skateboarders proper balance, skating techniques, basic tricks and how to adjust and maintain your board. Participants will have the opportunity to try their new skills on small ramps and rails. Helmets are mandatory; wrist guards and other protective gear is highly recommended. Particiapnts will have a chance to go to the North Hill Skate Park and the indoor ½ pipe at the Caledon Centre. Cheerleading Camp 8–13 years Explore the world of cheerleading. This program introduces you spirited child to dance routines, cheers, motion and basic tumbling (cartwheels, back walkovers, and round offs). Parents will be welcomed on the final class for a cheer off. Directors Cut 9–13 years Using stop motion technology, cutting edge video cameras, Macbook computers, expert instruction from real film makers and your imagination, you will bring things to life in your very own Hollywood blockbuster stop motion film. | |||
