Regional health department provides information about:

Breastfeeding - offers information, classes and clinics * home consultation is available if required (Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm) * no fee for this service

Immunization And Communicable Diseases - provides information about: tuberculosis (TB); vaccines and schedules for young children, students, and parents; hepatitis B vaccine * Grade 7 immunization program * free immunization for new students without an Ontario Health Card * communicable diseases * physicians can call for consultation about vaccines and unusual immunization schedules

Sexual Health - all calls are confidential * provides information about birth control methods * sexually transmitted infections (STDs) * talking about sex with children, teens, parents, partners * sexuality and aging * unplanned pregnancy * menstruation * homosexuality (being lesbian or gay) * sexual assault * female sexual concerns * male sexual concerns * AIDS * menopause * infertility * sexuality before and after childbirth * regular checkups (breast, cervix, testicles, prostate) * alternatives to intercourse * sexual concerns of teens

Chronic Disease And Injury Prevention - all calls are confidential * provides information about healthier lifestyle choices (preventing heart disease; living smoke free; injury prevention; violence prevention; healthy eating & physical activity; body image; Children in Need of Treatment Program; Healthy Smiles Dental Program, Dental Program for Seniors

Environmental Health - provides information about public swimming pool regulations * quality of municipally supplied drinking water * Smoke Free Ontario Act - tobacco enforcement * composters * food handling and safety *

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH  
Peel Health's public health inspectors will take calls regarding regulations about public swimming pools; quality of municipally supplied drinking water; tobacco by-law enforcement; composters and; food handler/swimming pool operator training programs.
