| Description | The Region of Peel's Corporate Services Department provides a variety of support services to other Regional Departments as well as a number of direct services to the public. The Commissioner oversees all areas within Corporate Services. Legal Services provides a full-service in-house legal team to meet the needs of the corporation Legal Services does not provide legal advice to the public. Clerk's Division carries out a number of varied duties as legislated by the provincial government and directed by Regional Council. The Clerk's Division is made up of three parts: Legislative Services (Council/Committee agendas; minutes; by-laws; delegations to Council; Decisions newsletter; responds to requests from the public for information, official record keeper of municipal documents). Regional Emergency Management (response to an emergency preparedness and education) and Regulatory Compliance (MFIPPA - Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy; reporting under PHIPA; corporate policy administration, document execution administration and the accessibility program). A Commissioner of Oaths service is also available through the Clerk's Office for a fee. The Information Management Division is responsible for the provision of corporate solutions related to processes and tools to manage documents, data and information assets. The focus of the division encompasses business intelligence and records lifecycle management delivering a broad range of information management services to the corporation. Internal Audit assists the Audit Committee in ensuring that the Region is operating in a fiscally responsible and accountable manner and to provide assurance that Regional programs are working effectively and are being delivered efficiently. Integrated Planning monitors and amends the Region Official Plan to keep it strategic and current, conducts/commissions studies related to the Region's land, natural environment and resources; collects and disseminates data on development and creates easily accessible statistical information systems. Corporate Finance and Business Planning and Financial Support Services are responsible for financial planning and control with a focus on the strategic outlook for the Region. | |||
