Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded, volunteer based organization that provides kids with cancer and kids affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching experiences. Camp programs include: * Summer camp program - three two-week sessions for children (6-19yrs) with cancer * Camp Teomul - a one-week session for bereaved siblings * 7SCAPE - a one-week session for newly diagnosed teenagers * Ooch Upstream - A two-week wilderness experience which allows teenagers to test limits and develop leadership skills in order to become strong, capable adults * Weekends At Camp - seven fall and winter weekends at camp * In-City program which includes year-round community based programming; This program will allows our campers and children who are either too young or unable to attend summer camp, the opportunity to experience Ooch during the year. Ooch remains the only residential camp in Ontario to offer IV chemotherapy on site so even children in the intense phase of their cancer treatment can still experience camp. In-Hospital Program: We currently have 5 In-Hospital Program Specialists who provide programming to in-patients and out-patients seven days a week. In addition there is programming four evenings a week led by Ooch volunteers.

Easter Seals offers the following programs dedicated to helping children, youth and young adults achieve their full individual potential and future independence. * Residential and Family Camp Provide a camping experience to a child that is fun and safe while promoting the development of life skills that enhance future independence building self-esteem through activities that challenge each child's individual abilities and providing opportunities for social interaction and building friendships. *Recreational Choices Funding Program Parents choose a recreation program that they feel is best for their child. This could include another residential camping program; day camp; swimming lessons; or another recreational program that takes place during the summer. Easter Seals will fund up to $250 towards the cost. This program is open to all children/youth (5-18yrs) registered with Easter Seals. * Direct Financial Assistance Offers direct financial assistance to individual families. Easter Seals Ontario acts as a third party funder and as such has no role in prescribing or recommending equipment, selecting a vendor/contractor or in the relationship between the parent and vendor. Children and young adults (birth to 19th birthday) with physical disabilities, who are registered with Easter Seals Ontario, qualify for financial assistance towards the purchase of eligible services and special equipment. Easter Seals financial assistance program picks up where the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's Assistive Devices Program (ADP), insurance and other family resources leave off. The list of eligible equipment and services is reviewed regularly and priority is given to mobility and communication devices.
